Once a resource file has been opened, the “New…”, “Edit…” and “Clear” buttons will be enabled as appropriate and the PICT and CNTL lists will fill with the IDs and names of the resources of those types present in the file. “New…” permits you to create a CNTL resource. If you have a PICT resource selected in the PICT list when you click on the “New…” button, the CNTL Editor will create a CNTL resource whose default picture ID and dimensions are based on the selected PICT resource. In addition, the default ID of CNTL resource will be set to the ID of the selected PICT. If no PICT resource is selected, the CNTL Editor will supply harmless defaults for all fields. “Edit…” invokes the CNTL Editor on the currently selected CNTL resource. “Clear” permits you to delete the selected CNTL resource. Command key shortcuts: O – open, W – close, Q or . – done, N - new, E - edit, B - clear. Also, pressing carriage return is the same as clicking on the Done button.
